Scholarships

Available to students from Citrus, Crystal River, or Lecanto High School. Applicants must be attending Florida State University in the fall. This is a one-time scholarship of $1,000.

The James & Clarine Kennedy Memorial Scholarship Committee will select a student who demonstrates fortitude and initiative in preparing for a future in health care.

Delta Kappa Gamma International is a professional honor society of key women educators. They are offering a $1,000 grant-in-aid to one senior woman at each Public CitrusCounty high school who is enrolling in an education preparation program when they enter college. This scholarship is designed to recognize hardworking high school seniors who exhibit exceptional dedication and perseverance and is not based on test scores or GPA. The winner is chosen due to grit and determination. Please write a short essay describing how you have demonstrated these characteristics and how you plan to work hard for a bright future. The applicant must be a graduating senior from Citrus High School, Crystal River High School, or Lecanto High School who is planning to attend a vocational school/trade school or college. This is a one-time $500 scholarship.

The Canes Cares Mental Health Scholarship is designed for a graduating Citrus High School student pursuing a career in mental health.

The Hurricane Hope and Healing Scholarship is designed for a graduating Citrus High School student who has dealt with challenges or mental health issues.

The applicant must be a Citrus County resident graduating from Lecanto, Citrus, or Crystal River High School. Applicants must be planning/working toward a career in veterinary science or an animal care related career.
